Dementia specific care

Within a secure wing of Killara Hostel, we provide a very high level of care for residents living with dementia, with 14 permanent beds available. We are unable to offer respite care in this unit.

Our dementia patients are cared for with utmost respect and sensitivity. We are committed to giving every resident the opportunity to live the life they want – to facilitate this, we adopt a ‘person-centred approach’ to care.

Living at Killara Hostel

We strive to create a home-like feel for the residents in our dementia unit. In this supportive, secure environment, residents are gently encouraged to participate in a range of indoor and outdoor activities; and they can also enjoy our beautiful gardens and walkways.
